They
bond directly with those synthetics, so they are
extremely scratch resistant. To apply them on wood
use a standard wood primer.
To
apply “Life Colours” paints we recommend artists’
brushes or Airbrushing. In the “Life Colours” program
you will find a large selection of marten and synthetic
artists’ brushes.
“Life
Colours” paints have an excellent coverage and compared
to other model paints the coverage is far stronger
because of the special pigments used. Due to this
special pigmentation the layer of paint is far thinner
then with other model enamels, and the smallest details
are contained after painting. Furthermore a single
coat of paint is under normal conditions enough,
so these paints are economical in use and allow for
speedy processing.
”Life
colours” paints are - at this moment - available
in 14 base satin colours (black and white inclusive),
furthermore three high gloss jewellery paints (Gold,
Silver and Copper) with a perfect coat can be obtained.”Life
Colours” paints can be mixed to obtain endlessly
many colours, we advise using our measuring pipettes
(#51002) to repeatedly mix the same colour. the base
kit (#50088) you will also find a mixing table with
recipes to mix 58 most used RAL colours. One of the
advantages of using “Life Colours” paint is that
all paints are ready to use (either to apply or to
mix).”Life Colours“ paints are dust dry in approx.
20 mins. and usually need only one coat, this allows
fast processing without unnecessary breaks. The paints
dry in a special satin tone, which strengthens the
effects of light and shadow on finely detailled models.
In case you need a more matt tone, you can add matting
powder (#50002) to the paints, for a more bright
or glossy surface tone you can apply a coat of our
varnish (#50070) after having the colour layer applied.”Life
Colours” paints can be kept for many years, since
they do not build a “skin” like most model enamels,
if they are kept airtight. For this reason we deliver
our paints in special glass bottles with a seal screw
on lid, so you can keep our paints airtight. To store
and mix your own colours you can also obtain these
bottles with lids empty (#50001 and 510026); the
bottles can contain 15 mils. Since the pigments of
“Life Colours” paint can settle on the bottom of
the bottles, the paints need to be stirred well before
application. The settling of the pigments does not
lessen the quality of the coat, and the “Life Colours”
program offers special beech wood stirring rods (#51003).
